In response to the massive floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has announced a substantial increase in compensation for flood victims. The aim is to provide maximum relief and support to those affected.

Compensation for those who lost loved ones has been significantly increased. The amount for each death has been raised from 1 million Rupees to 2 million.

Furthermore, the compensation for injured individuals has also seen a substantial increase. Victims will now receive Rs500,000, up from the previous Rs50,000.

For those who have lost their homes, the government is providing enhanced support. Compensation for completely destroyed homes has been increased from Rs400,000 to Rs1 million. Similarly, compensation for partially destroyed homes has been raised from Rs100,000 to Rs300,000.

Recognizing the significant impact on businesses, the government will now provide Rs500,000 in compensation for destroyed shops. This is a new initiative, as no such compensation was previously offered.

Finally, a new food relief program has been introduced. Each affected individual will receive Rs15,000 to assist with food needs. This is the first time such direct food assistance has been provided.

“In every moment of difficulty, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is with you!” the CM said in a press release. The government is working to expedite the distribution of aid to those most in need. The scale of the devastation caused by the unprecedented flooding continues to be assessed.
