Security forces are conducting an ongoing operation against militants in the Azam Warsak area of Lower South Waziristan. According to the latest reports, the forces have killed 15 militants in an assault on militant hideouts. Among the dead is a suicide bomber. Local sources report that several other militants were injured during the ensuing firefight.
Local sources state that the militants attempted to take refuge in a mosque, but security forces pursued them and surrounded the area. During the operation, security forces also secured the Karamzai Stop on the Azam Warsak Road, converting an empty house into a temporary post.
During the clash, four children and a woman in a nearby house sustained minor injuries from militant gunfire. They received immediate medical attention at a local medical store. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.
Despite the ongoing operation, traffic between Azam Warsak and Wana continues as normal, and civilians are going about their daily routines.
