Rahmatullah Wazir, the head a local school and head of the Wana Welfare Association. was kidnapped on Monday morning from South Waziristan by unidentified gunmen as he was traveling to the New Aqra School from his home.

Local sources report that two people were injured during the abduction, which involved gunfire. The abductors forced Wazir into a vehicle at gunpoint and fled to an unknown location.

Police sources are currently gathering details surrounding the incident and have intensified security checkpoints at all entry and exit points of the area. Both police and civil administration have launched investigations.

Residents have appealed to the government and authorities to take swift action, bringing the perpetrators to justice and ensuring the safety of educational and social figures in the region.

This abduction follows a recent pattern of violence in Lower Waziristan. Last week, a school was destroyed by a bomb blast, and pamphlets were distributed by a group calling itself “Fidaiyan-e-Islam,” warning students and teachers against attending school. Furthermore, last Monday, Maulana Sanaullah, a religious scholar and local school teacher, was shot dead in Karabag, Barmal tehsil, Lower Waziristan, by unidentified gunmen. The recent incidents have heightened concerns about the security situation and the safety of educational institutions in the region.
