Indian drone shot down in Lahore

Pakistani security forces shot down an Indian drone in the Manawan area of Lahore on Friday, according to police sources. The drone was targeted immediately upon detection within Pakistani airspace.

According to Geo News, sources indicate the device appeared to be a surveillance drone, as no explosives were found. Intelligence agencies have taken custody of the drone and launched an investigation.

This incident follows months of tension between Pakistan and India, culminating in a military confrontation in May 2025.

That conflict, triggered by an April attack on tourists in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), resulted in a large-scale retaliatory action by Pakistan’s armed forces, “Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos,” targeting several Indian military installations. The conflict, which lasted 87 hours, ended with a US-brokered ceasefire.
