Drone attack on FC checkpost martyrs soldier in Bannu

A drone attack on a Frontier Corps (FC) checkpost in Bannu district, specifically in the areas of Bakhakhel and Takhti Khel, resulted in the martyrdom of one FC soldier, identified as Mina Khan, and injuries to three others. The attack, carried out by a quadcopter drone, prompted immediate search operations by FC and police forces in the region. The injured soldiers have been transported to a hospital for treatment.

Simultaneously, a joint search and targeted operation by security forces and Bannu police is underway in the Howaid area to eliminate hidden terrorist elements. This operation, launched based on intelligence reports and confidential information, aims to eradicate terrorism and establish lasting peace in the region.

The operation, overseen directly by DPO Bannu Salim Abbas Kalachi under the instructions of DIG Bannu Region Sajjad Khan, involves a full-scale deployment of police and security forces. A thorough house-to-house search is being conducted, with security forces maintaining a tight perimeter. Swift and decisive action is being taken against any suspicious activity or resistance to prevent terrorist escape or refuge.

A curfew has been imposed in the area for public safety.
