Hundreds of participants, led by Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch, are set to depart Quetta for Islamabad today in a long march organized by Jamaat-e-Islami. The marchers will travel in a convoy of hundreds of vehicles, which have begun gathering in Quetta.

Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman, the amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan and an MPA, addressed the participants before their departure. The march is aimed at pressing the government to address six key demands.

These demands include the resolution of the issue of missing persons, tackling insecurity and unemployment, protecting resources, ending the patronage of the trailer mafia, and addressing concerns about the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The Jamaat-e-Islami has announced that it aims to bring one hundred thousand people to Islamabad for the demonstration.
