A bomb blast targeting a railway track in Balochistan’s Sibi district partially damaged a bogie of the Quetta-bound Bolan Mail train on Thursday. According to station master Murtaza, the explosion occurred between Bakhtiarabad and Damboli, damaging bogie number 7. Despite the damage, the train reached Sibi railway station safely.

Muhammad Kashif, public relations officer for the Quetta Railway divisional superintendent, confirmed the blast at kilometer 200 between Damboli and Dangra, while the train was passing. As a precaution, train 40UP was stopped at Dera Murad Jamali Station.

This incident is the latest in a series of attacks targeting Balochistan’s railway infrastructure. The frequency of such attacks has increased in recent years. Train services between Quetta and the rest of the country were restored after being suspended following the hijacking of the Jaffar Express in March.

That incident resulted in the deaths of 21 passengers and four security personnel. A subsequent military operation claimed the neutralization of 33 terrorists. In June, another explosion caused four bogies of the Jaffar Express to derail in Jacobabad, though no injuries were reported.
