At least eight terrorists were killed in an operation in Mamund tehsil, Bajaur on Tuesday, according to official sources quoted by Geo News. The operation came after a security forces party was targeted in an explosion on Tuesday morning.

Intense clashes were reported in the area early in the afternoon, with The Khorasan Diary reporting that gunship helicopters were also hovering over the area.

Official sources later revealed that the operation had resulted in the elimination of eight terrorists.

A few days earlier, videos had emerged showing militants openly roaming around in the area. Then on Tuesday, a blocking party of the security forces was targeted in an explosion, injuring four soldiers, according to The Khorasan Diary.

The clearance operation was reportedly launched in the same place where the security forces were targeted.
