The Kremlin has indicated a willingness to provide various forms of assistance to Iran, contingent upon Tehran’s specific requests. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Monday that Russia’s support for Iran will be tailored to meet Iran’s needs.

“Everything depends on what Iran needs,” Peskov said during a press briefing. He highlighted Russia’s offer of mediation efforts as a concrete example of its support. Furthermore, Peskov emphasized Russia’s public condemnation of the ongoing Iran-Israel war as a significant demonstration of its backing for Tehran.

“We have stated our position. This is also a very important manifestation, a form of support for the Iranian side,” Peskov added. He also revealed that Iran has been a recurring topic of discussion in recent conversations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump.

The Kremlin’s statement suggests a deepening level of cooperation and support between Moscow and Tehran amidst the ongoing conflict.

The development comes after the United States bombed three nuclear sites in Iran including the heavily fortified Fordow plant. Although President Donald Trump claimed total obliteration, Iran says that the plants only suffered minimal damage.
