Religious Mask, Violent Mission: The Reality Behind Noor Wali’s TTP

at 3:18 PM

Noor Wali heads Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, now declared as Fitna al-Klhwarij (FAK) by Islamic scholars and the Pakistan state, claiming it is an Islamic movement when, in fact, its primary aim and activities are political and very violent. Rather than trying to reform religious beliefs, FAK uses terrorism to damage schools, hurt civilians, and target both security forces and religious scholars. Attacks of this kind are not considered just or fair resistance and are serious crimes against international law as well as Islamic rules.

No private armies are allowed under Islamic law to fight other Muslim governments, as regulations have been set by the Quran, Sunnah, and consensus of scholars across the ages. Sovereignty is a well-known concept in the classical traditions of Islamic law. Wali’s practices at FAK and the group’s violence in a Muslim-majority Pakistan are completely against the legal trend for fighting jihad. Based on Islamic teachings, what he does—bombing, killing, and hurting innocent people— is illegitimate. He is not considered a religious leader; instead, he cites religion to please others as he leads the fighting.

FAK does not belong to any real faith. It is an armed group created by spreading fear and lies, using important Islamic content to recruit new members and spread their propaganda. Smuggling and extortion keep the group’s leadership wealthy, so they use Islamic donations to provide their fighters with weapons and resources. Many fighters are put in danger because they fight under slogans that don’t truly evolve ideas about society or religion.

FAK’s approaches are in clear opposition to the main Islamic principles of compassion, fairness, and learning. Islam tells its followers to value discussion, understanding, and knowledge. As a result, FAK mutes free speech through violence and gets rid of those who challenge it. Injecting tyranny into Islam’s teachings is not what the religion teaches; instead, it is simply oppression dressed up with religious terms.

One of the worst steps taken by FAK is to deliberately assault educational institutions. Education is regarded as important in Islam because it is considered necessary by faith and valuable for everyone. Despite this, FAK bullies the centers, attacks, and kills children and teachers, which prevents Muslim communities from thriving. The concept of jihad used to take the lives of children and for education is a complete injustice.

His claim to be an Islamic leader is weakened by the fact that people in Mecca, Medina, or respected Islamic authorities worldwide do not follow his type of Islam. They use his propaganda and misinterpretations of scripture to encourage people to join the fight, but not to help others believe and live according to those faiths. True Islamic scholars all agree that these claims are false and that they strongly oppose both terrorism and extremism.

FAK was true to its character when it carried out a jihad against Pakistan. Instead of pushing for freedom, FAK chooses to attack people, security services, and infrastructure in mainly Muslim countries. Relationships with foreign militants make the region less stable and are an attempt to decrease Pakistan’s independence. Because of this alliance, the group becomes known as agents of unrest rather than as allies of religion or the country.

Put simply, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) acted in a way that is very different from Noor Wali. The Prophet lived without the goal of personal power or gain through raising militias. The goal of his mission was to encourage people to understand, protect, and unite with each other. Islam opposes activity that brings more problems than solutions and the violent actions of FAK only result in pain, anguish, and division. The things they did went against the principles of prophecy that are at the heart of Islam.

It also prefers to emphasize its inaccurate messages and bring fear to people. Their leaders are afraid of transparency and the fact that those who tell the truth rally against them, so they order violence to silence anyone who reveals their deceit. The fact that Muslims worldwide reject Noor Wali’s ideas shows how much people believe his Islam is a distorted one.

While extremist ideas are part of it, powerful groups like FAK also spring from broader problems in schools, the courts, and official policies. Completing these fundamentals, raising the quality of education, restoring justice, and encouraging solidarity, helps challenge violent extremism. We can fight FAK’s dangerous message by reviving and increasing the teaching of peace, mercy, and unity from credible Islamic scholarship.

Muslim people everywhere must take their faith back from those trying to use it for unjust purposes. Noor Wali and FAK deserve more than just acceptance and being scared into silence. Therefore, they should be made visible, confronted in court, and opposed by peaceful, visible discussions. People in Muslim communities need to take part in fighting terrorism, so that their way of life and faith are protected.

In short, Noor Wali and FAK pervert the principles taught in Islam. They are not supporters of religion, justice, or social progress. Increasingly, they pretend to be religious while going on violent missions for their benefit. Everyone within Muslim communities, our scholars, governments, and civil society should join hands to reject these false teachings and restore Islamic values based on peace, fairness, kindness, and education.

Muslim societies and the progress of Islam rely on dealing with these falsehoods. Willingly challenging FAK, identifying their scams, and sharing the true values of Islam are the best ways to increase peace and progress in the community. When they speak the truth, terrorism stops, and the truth is that Noor Wali and FAK are enemies of Islam, peace, and people everywhere.
