605 terrorist attacks reported in KP in 2025, new report says

A new report reveals a surge in terrorist activity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, Pakistan, with 605 attacks reported over the past eight months. The violence has resulted in the deaths of 138 civilians and 79 police officers, while hundreds more have been injured.

According to sources, details the devastating impact of the ongoing conflict. A total of 351 suspects have been named in connection with these attacks, with 32 killed and 5 arrested. In addition to the civilian deaths, 352 civilians were injured in these attacks. Among the security forces, 130 police officers sustained injuries.

The report highlights a particularly violent past month, with 129 terrorist attacks reported. These attacks claimed the lives of 17 civilians and injured 51 more. Thirteen police officers were killed and 46 injured while combating these attacks. The highest number of attacks last month, 42, occurred in Bannu district. Northern Waziristan saw 15 attacks, Southern Waziristan 14, Dir 11, and DI Khan and Kurram each experienced 8 attacks. In these 42 attacks alone, 186 suspects were named, and 8 terrorists were killed in ensuing clashes.

The report paints a grim picture of the security situation in KP, underscoring the urgent need for increased security measures and efforts to combat terrorism in the region.
