Authorities have imposed a 48-hour complete curfew in certain areas of Upper South Waziristan to maintain law and order amid threats of terrorism. The restrictions came into effect at 6:00 a.m. on October 28 and will remain in place until 6:00 a.m. on October 30.
According to an official notification issued by the district administration, all movement within the affected areas has been completely banned, and all shops and markets will remain closed during the curfew.
Areas and Routes Under Curfew
The curfew covers specific parts of Upper South Waziristan where travel and entry along the following key routes are strictly prohibited:
- Dargai Pul – Madi Jan – Sheen Warsak (Upper South Waziristan) – Mola Khan Sarai to Chagmalai
- Sarwekai – Mola Khan Sarai to Barwand
Travel Guidelines During Emergencies
Residents have been instructed to strictly comply with the curfew. However, travel will only be allowed in emergency situations, subject to strict conditions:
- Individuals needing to travel in an emergency must obtain permission from police or security forces stationed on the routes.
- Travelers must carry their national identity cards and relevant documents, which will be checked and collected at security checkpoints.
Citizens have also been advised that if they see a security forces vehicle on the road, they must immediately pull their vehicle off the road at least 100 meters away.
The district administration has urged the public to cooperate with the authorities to help maintain peace and prevent any untoward incidents.
