Security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in Bannu District after receiving reports about the presence of militants associated with the India-linked group Fitna al-Khwarij. The operation was launched following confirmed information regarding their hideout in the area.

During the mission, troops engaged the militants’ position, triggering a heavy exchange of fire. According to security officials, twenty-two militants were killed as a result of the successful action by the forces.

Following the encounter, a thorough clearance and sanitization operation was initiated to ensure no additional militants connected to the group remained in the vicinity. Personnel continued to search the area to eliminate any remaining threats.

Authorities affirmed that the ongoing counterterrorism campaign under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” initiative—approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan—will proceed with full momentum. Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies reiterated their commitment to eradicating foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
