At least 10 terrorists were killed in an operation in Mianwali on Monday.

According to media reports, the operation was jointly conducted by Counter-Terrorism Department and police in the Makarwal area of Mianwali.

The terrorists killed in the operation reportedly include foreigners, and several terrorists are injured as well.

An exchange of fire is underway between forces and terrorists. At least one civilian has been injured in the exchange of fire.

The operation comes days after CTD killed five terrorists in an intelligence-based operation in Duki, Balochistan. The terrorists had belonged to a banned organisation and were involved in attacks on coal mines, security officials and civilians.

March was the second deadliest month in terms of terrorist attacks in the last decade with at least 105 terrorist attacks being reported across the country. In response, security forces also stepped up their operations, killing at least 83 terrorists.
